The Medrash Raba פרשה ע uses the phrase: בְּרַמְשָׁא אֲתוֹן מַעֲלָתָא וַחֲפוֹן בּוֹצִינַיָא. All the Meforshim translate that as "at night the lads came and turned off [lit. covered] the lights."
