Can you use cinnamon for Bisamim at havdalah? Which is better: ground cinnamon or whole sticks?

For havdala, you mean? You might want to specify in the question. A more interesting question IMO is what b'racha to make on it when it's used for havdala. IIRC Mishna B'rura says bore mine b'samim, but CYLOR. – msh210 Apr 17 '11 at 3:52
look at the tag, and the rule is for ashkenazim all Scents are Besamim as mentioned in MB – SimchasTorah Apr 17 '11 at 5:03
Yes, I didn't say there's no answer: just that it's an interesting question. :-) – msh210 Apr 17 '11 at 5:18
Wouldn't the blessing change depending on whether you use ground on whole sticks? – Rabbi Michael Tzadok Apr 17 '11 at 9:53
All times yes, but not Havdala – SimchasTorah Apr 17 '11 at 12:56

From what I see online (here and here): Yes. Don't know about the second half, probably depends which way gives a stronger smell...
