According to the Rambam, how were disputes over the application of the law settled in the Midbar? I remember seeing something about how they were resolved instantly with the help of Moshe, but I cannot, for the life of me, find again where I saw the Rambam discuss it. Any help finding the quote?

Are you sure that you're remembering correctly? According to the Rambam, there were no disputes in Moshe's time (end of this second paragraph: he.wikisource.org/wiki/…) –  Matt Jul 7 '14 at 21:24
