Mi Yodeya is a question and answer site for those who base their lives on Jewish law and tradition and anyone interested in learning more. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have heard anecdotally that a world class chazzan can make nearly $100,000 for leading the services on Rosh Hashanna and Yom Kippur. I don't know exactly how to confirm this but I am trying to find out what the market average for large congregations hiring a well qualified chazzan would in fact be.
