Mi Yodeya is a question and answer site for those who base their lives on Jewish law and tradition and anyone interested in learning more. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Yosef lived in the Holy Land from age six (B'reshis 30:25, 31:41) until age seventeen (Rashi to 37:34). This was eleven years, or 10% of his 110-year lifespan (50:26). Does anyone comment on this percentage as significant (perhaps — and this is just a guess — in relation to the tithing mentioned in 28:22)?
