I have read numerous divrei chazal that associate the avot with the number 3, or three aspects of something e.g. torah, avodah and gemilut chassadim (from pirkei avot, chapter 1).

I am looking for a list of others. Please say which forefather corresponds to what and why.

There are either too many possible answers, or good answers would be too long for this format. Please add details to narrow the answer set or to isolate an issue that can be answered in a few paragraphs. If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

each was metaken the 3 flaws of kina, taava, and kavod which are the roots of all evil as mentioned in pirket avot and discussed here: dafyomireview.com/audio/m04-3_flaws_of_man_and_role_of_jews.mp3 – Gizbar Nov 2 '13 at 20:57

@bondonk it's a long subject. you have to see it in proper perspective. i suggest hearing the audio – Gizbar Nov 3 '13 at 6:03
i dont see how this is different to the 'mi yodea' streams. It is interesting to link the avot to a number of different things, e.g. pesach, shavuot and succot with chesed, gevurah and tiferet. i dont think that this is beyond the scope of this forum. It would be great to link different things and broaden the scope of our understanding of our avot - within the realm of chazal. i will edit the question later. – bondonk Nov 4 '13 at 19:06
