There's lots of answers pertaining to the consumption of insects.
In questions regarding the allowance of eating eggs: One of the distinctions is between the flesh/blood and whole animal and whether or not it is the blood of the mother or child (depending on whether or not it is still dependent upon the mother.
"Eggs are not considered eiver min hachai because the egg is not severed from the mother, but rather the egg is released from the mother naturally." Is a chicken egg considered "Aver min Hachai"?
However, oftentimes insect eggs can still be inside the insect during time of consumption (in a salad for instance) or during the time of grinding, in the case of juice.
There are lots of certified juice brands, but the FDA allows
5 or more Drosophila and other fly eggs per 250 ml or 1 or more maggots per 250 ml
"Rabbi Eidlitz of kosherquest.org permits this for certain things, such as most juices. His rulings are widely accepted." Juice would fit with the construct of "only visible insects/worms" being applicable. Microscopic insects, or pulverized parts would be acceptable.
But what of the case where insect ovule still in the mother's body being ground up? Would it be the equivalent of putting a fertile chicken or cow into a grinder, whole? Can I then, grind up my chickens whole, as long as there is no undue suffering (as is the case with commercial chickens)?
It is important to realize that we are prohibited from the Torah (Vayikra XI) to eat Sheratzim. This issue includes many types of insects. Therefore, a bowl of salad which may look kosher, could have more non-kosher ingredients (bugs) and prohibitions than a cheeseburger at a local fast food restaurant.
If there were three or more insects in the food, we have to assume that it was infested with insects and must be sifted, strained etc.
But most juices are not sifted, and only strained after production (the insect parts and eggs are already mixed in). On a related note, I also don't understand why locusts and grasshoppers are considered permissible simply because they chew their "cud" as they do not have four legs.
