Mi Yodeya is a question and answer site for those who base their lives on Jewish law and tradition and anyone interested in learning more. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I was told that on a threshing floor, a certain dimension of "floor" having "x" amount of grain was subject to a specific halacha. A question in the Gemara is: if the dimension of "floor" is multiplied, is "x" amount of grain multiplied by the same amount to be subject to that halacha? This was presented to me 35 years ago as an example of a classic teiku.

  1. What is the Gemara?

  2. What are other solid examples of "teiku"? (I'm not looking for a definition.)

That's on bava metzia 21a. Do you just want more daf references to the word Teiku? –  Double AA Jul 4 '13 at 4:26
