Mikvah and illness

Question

Is there any reason to assume that a woman may or may not go to Mikvah when she has a non-life threatening illness that may be made worse by going (eg., flu, strep, ear infection)?

What if both she and her husband are ill? (This is indirectly relevant, VeHaMevin YaVin.)

Does it matter if she may be contagious?
