There is a well-known custom to eat stuffed cabbage on Simhath Torah. But many also eat it on Sukkoth. Is it an extension of the same reason? Are the reasons cited for Simhath Torah (in the answers to the linked question) incomplete? Is it just that it's become seasonal - ie., we're eating in a Sukkah, for many it is rather cool and perhaps damp outside, a nice, hot, saucy dish (and/or soup) would go really well, and, hey, we eat these stuffed cabbages quasi-ritually in a couple of days, so let's have some now to warm up, too!
