Mi Yodeya is a question and answer site for those who base their lives on Jewish law and tradition and anyone interested in learning more. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've read on this site that Jews believe many "good" unbelievers will get to heaven, eventually. And that truly "bad" unbelievers will cease to exist. Without consequences for non-Judiasm why would a person want to become Jewish in the first place? Why did you become Jewish?

I know this may have many answers, but it is an important question none the less.

Dongle26, I think this can be edited to be a better fit for Mi Yodeya. (You can click the "edit" link under the tags.) Are you concerned specifically about what Judaism says about Jews and gentiles with respect to the afterlife? Are you asking about records of conversion reasons (this might be findable in various rabbinic writings)? Are you asking if there are accepted and not-accepted reasons to want to convert? – Monica Cellio Sep 30 '12 at 15:56
