The Continental Congress adopted the United States Declaration of Independence.

(The Fourth of July in 1776 coincided with 17 Tammuz 5536. What the deeper significance of this is, I don't know.)

I thought Rabbi Freifeld was your Rebbi –  SimchasTorah Jul 1 '10 at 14:54

You are confusing me with another person (who I know very well!) –  Yahu Jul 2 '10 at 3:22

YS, its his Father correct? –  YRU Jul 14 '10 at 4:32

The person whose Rebbi was Rav Freifeld is not my father. My father's Rebbeim were Rav Hutner and Rav Ruderman, Zichronum Livracha. –  Yahu Jul 14 '10 at 23:04

YRU, maybe, if I change my user name to "Rav Yahu" you will realize that I am a generation older than you think. –  Yahu Jul 14 '10 at 23:05
