[Edit: According to Nusach Edot HamMizrach,] why does the Mussaf prayer on Shabbat and Rosh Chodesh include a description of the actual mussaf sacrifice, while the Mussaf prayer on Moed does not? Why aren't they consistent with each other?

I admit that I am not the brightest bulb in the pack, but I truly do not understand the question. Why is the paragraph beginning with והקרבתם אשה עלה (which follows ומפני חטאינו ) not a description of the chol ha-mo'ed korban and consistent with the descriptions of Shabbat and Rosh Chodesh korbanot? In my response above, I'm assuming you meant chol ha-mo'ed, but my response would be the same even if you meant Yom Tov itself. There is what looks to me to be a description of the mussaf sacrifice for each Yom Tov and every day of Chol ha-Mo'ed following the paragraph of "Because of our sins..." I'm still confused about in what way you see them as not being descriptions which are consistent with the Shabbat and Rosh Chodesh descriptions? – Shemmy Apr 11 '12 at 16:25

@Shemmy I meant all of moed. Perhaps our nuschaot are different? (I'll change the question accordingly when I confirm.) – Baal Shemot Tovot Apr 11 '12 at 16:55
